Adam Sperduto, MD
Dr. Sperduto is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgeon. He specializes in the treatment in all types of skin cancers in patients of all ages. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Sperduto received his doctor of medicine from Emory University before completing his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He also completed a year of fellowship training in Mohs surgery for the treatment of skin cancer at Surgical Dermatology Group in Alabama. On the weekends, he can be found fishing, hunting or simply enjoying the great outdoors.
Lee Yarbrough, MD
Dr. Yarbrough is a board-certified dermatologist who has practiced dermatology in the Lowcountry since 2009. He offers treatment for all skin conditions in children and adults. Born and raised in Louisiana, Dr. Yarbrough obtained his degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University before completing his doctor of medicine at Louisiana State University (LSU). He served as the chief resident while completing his residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Yarbrough and his wife, Brooke, have three children. He enjoys live music, playing golf and is an avid college football fan.
Roger Sullivan, MD
Dr. Sullivan is a board-certified dermatologist offering diagnosis and treatment of all skin conditions in all ages. Before completing his medical school training and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), Dr. Sullivan served as a U.S. Naval officer for seven years. He is married to a local physician, Brigid, and is the proud father of six children. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Sullivan enjoys cheering for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish during football season.
Ashley Allen, MD
Dr. Allen is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology care for patients of all ages. Originally from Rock Hill, SC, Dr. Allen graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina, received her doctor of medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and completed her residency in dermatology at Tulane University in New Orleans, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. Outside of work, Dr. Allen enjoys exercising, trying new recipes, entertaining, and spending time with her husband, Brian, and their beloved dog, Scout.
Deb Hewlett PA-C
Deb Hewlett is a board-certified physician assistant who joined our practice in October 2019. Born and raised in Bethesda, MD, Deb obtained her degree in public health from The University of Maryland, College Park and then her masters of science in physician assistant studies from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. After she obtained her degree, Deb was trained by and worked for a dermatologist in the Baltimore area for two years before moving to Charleston. She lives in downtown Charleston with her husband, Ron. Since moving to Charleston, Deb and her husband have enjoyed trying new restaurants, bike rides and learning to surf.
Chris Buthorn PA-C
Originally from Long Island, NY, Christopher Buthorn obtained his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA in 1998. Deciding direct patient care was his calling, he went on to become a Certified Respiratory Therapist. He graduated with honors from Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY in 2002 and proceeded to practice for two years at New York’s Winthrop University Hospital. Desiring to advance his career, he chose to become a Physician Assistant. Christopher is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant and brings 13 years of dermatology experience. He was educated at the Touro College School of Health Sciences on Long Island, NY where he graduated with Cum Laude honors. He is passionate about patient care and education. He embraces a team approach and believes in partnering with patients in delivering care without compromise.
Julie Shaheen PA-C
Julie Shaheen is a board certified Physician Assistant. Originally from New England, she spent several years working at a prominent Dermatology practice in Columbus, Ohio. Julie received her degree as a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Johnson & Wales University, following a Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Diagnostic Imaging from Quinnipiac University. In addition to treating a wide variety of skin conditions, Julie is available to treat cosmetic concerns regarding skincare, Botox, and dermal fillers. In her spare time, Julie enjoys practicing pilates, paddleboarding, and spending time with her family.
Samantha Peters, PA-C
Samantha Peters is a board certified physician assistant that is from Dayton, Ohio. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She then completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she graduated with honors. During her physician assistant education at MUSC, she served as the South Carolina Society of Dermatology PA’s Student Representative. This allowed her to increase access to care in the local community by volunteering and helping run the Dream Center dermatology free clinic in North Charleston. Upon graduation from PA school, Samantha was inducted into MUSC’s Alpha Eta National Honor Society and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Samantha has been trained by Dr. Roger Sullivan, M.D. since joining Charleston Dermatology and she is excited to help patients with all of their dermatological needs. Outside of work, Samantha enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time at the beach with her friends and family.
Anna Cate Jeffries, PA-C
Anna Cate Jeffries is a board certified Physician Assistant who joined our practice in February 2023. Anna Cate was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where she received her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies Degree at The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Physician Assistant Program (UAB) following graduating summa cum laude from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Upon joining Charleston Dermatology, Anna Cate was personally trained in dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic injectable’s by Dr. Roger Patrick Sullivan, M.D. prior to starting her own clinic. In addition to treating various skin conditions and providing skin exams, Anna Cate also enjoys treating patients’ cosmetic concerns with services like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Daxxify®, Juvéderm®, and RHA® Dermal Fillers. She also utilizes skin rejuvenation/resurfacing services like Radiofrequency Microneedling, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), and Ellacor® to help patients discover their most beautiful skin. In her spare time, Anna Cate enjoys baking, traveling, Alabama football, and spending time with her husband and dachshund.
Carleigh Newman, PA-C
Carleigh Newman is a board-certified physician assistant who joined our practice in January 2024. Carleigh was born and raised in Greenville, SC and attended undergrad at the University of Georgia. She graduated from Charleston Southern University’s physician assistant program. Carleigh has been trained by Dr. Yarbrough and is excited to work with his team to treat a variety of dermatologic needs. In her spare time, Carleigh likes to read, exercise, spend time outside, and cheer on the Georgia Bulldawgs!
