Mission/Purpose
The Why Behind the Tournament
In honor of my father, Michael Kemp—a world-renowned marine biologist who passed away in the fall of 2020 from complications of Parkinson’s disease and dementia—we are hosting the 3rd Annual HealthLinks Charity Golf Series. During his final years, my dad and I shared many special moments on the golf course and this tournament is more than just a game; it’s a chance to give back to the local charities that gave my family guidance and peace of mind when we needed it most. Hosting this event is a full-circle moment for me, and I know it would be a point of pride for my father to see us supporting these incredible causes that are so close to our hearts.

Respite Care Charleston is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support to caregivers and those living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
The Greater Charleston Parkinson Disease Support Group is a local 501(c)(3) that meets monthly as a support group to empower and educate individuals and families to meet the challenges of living with Parkinson’s Disease.
The mission of Rock Steady Boxing is to equip our affiliates and empower coaches to improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s disease through a non-contact, boxing-based fitness curriculum. Michael Kemp was one of the inaugural members who helped launch the Rock Steady program at the MUSC Wellness Center, here in Charleston.
