Each client we serve has a custom-tailored service plan and schedule based on their unique needs that is developed by our client service manager.
Bishop Gadsden is known as the paragon of life-care retirement living in the Southeast. Since it was founded in 1850, the thriving community has had a positive impact in the Charleston area. Their high standards of care expanded past the doors of their James Island location when, in 2013, they introduced BG Connections, a program designed to address non-medical in-home care needs. Through the program, clients are provided with knowledgeable, reliable caregivers in their home.
BG Connections began as a service to Bishop Gadsden residents, but they felt strongly that Bishop Gadsden employees could expand their outreach to provide high-quality home-care services to other Charleston residents. Their client base and number of caregivers continues to grow, and they are receiving an abundance of positive feedback.
Clients receive a customized service plan to meet their specific requirements. Marisa Lynch, the program director, said: “Each client we serve has a custom-tailored service plan and schedule based on their unique needs that is developed by our client service manager or myself. We will sit down with the client and/or family member to capture what non-medical needs that individual needs assistance with.”
BG Connections was created with the intention of enhancing their clients’ lives. Bishop Gadsden provides a range of services including but not limited to bathing and dressing assistance, medication reminders, transportation, light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands and recovery after surgery.
Bishop Gadsden understands what must be considered when deciding to bring someone into your home. All BG Connectionscaregivers are carefully screened and are experienced in providing comprehensive non-medical home-care services. All BG Connections’ caregivers are employees of Bishop Gadsden, so they must pass a background check and a drug test and take a physical examination.
Lynch takes care to maintain consistency when scheduling caregivers with clients.
“The clients we serve with a regular schedule are seeing the same caregivers on a consistent basis,” she said. “This allows for the client, family and caregiver to create a valuable relationship and have assurance in knowing who is coming into their home.”
BG Connections will work with you to fit your specific needs. They are happy to provide services in a home environment, a hospital setting, assisted living or skilled nursing. Services can be scheduled for a minimum of four hours or up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week, depending on the schedule developed with Bishop Gadsden’s leadership team.
Enhancing your life at home is BG Connections’ top priority. Whether you require services for a short period or long-term daily assistance, BG Connections will work to create a homecare plan that promotes your vision of positive living.
