Mt. Pleasant Eye Surgeons has been serving the community since 2015. Nicole Legare, M.D., acquired the practice in 2022.

“What drew me to Mt. Pleasant Eye Surgeons was that it was a privately owned solo practice,” Dr. Legare explained. “Prior, I was at an academic center where a number of patients had to be seen in one day.”

Dr. Legare prides herself on Mt. Pleasant Eye Surgeons’ patient-focused approach that emphasizes the highest possible standards rather than numbers. Having the time to connect with patients ensures the best possible care.

The employees who currently work at Mt. Pleasant Eye Surgeons were with the practice before Dr. Legare took over.

“Having 100% of the employees remain after a change of ownership isn’t common,” she explained. “It is a testament to their commitment to our patients and the community.”

As a comprehensive ophthalmology practice, Dr. Legare and her team perform screening exams including diabetic eye exams and hydroxychloroquine screenings. They also provide diagnosis and treatment for ocular conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eyes, conjunctivitis and uveitis.
