Choosing a new home in an assisted living community is a daunting task. Comparing the options of rooms, amenities and food, anticipating what level of care is required now and in the future, not to mention the emotional and mental transition from living independently, can weigh heavily on seniors and their family members. The all-inclusive rates run from $2,800 to $3,600 per month, based on a shared or private room, and feature many of the same amenities offered at communities that are double the price.
“We have a diverse offering of culinary options and give our residents the ability to choose what suits their tastes for that meal,” said Baker. “That may not sound important to someone not living in this type of community, but, to those who do, it makes a very big difference in their well-being and happiness. We also offer physician services and therapy services on-site.”
To ensure a happy and successful community, Ashley Landing’s life enrichment coordinator plans special events and holiday celebrations for families and residents. Outings like trips to restaurants, shopping, mystery tours through Charleston and visits to historic sites are offered each month. Transportation to and from local doctor’s appointments is also available and relieves an extra burden on family members.
