Choosing the right people to help care for loved ones or the right place to retire can be a daunting task and one that many more people are faced with as they live longer. While there are a variety of retirement living options around Charleston, one community has been developed exclusively for adults 55 and over.

Daniel Pointe, a luxurious resort-like community on Daniel Island, offers the comforts and conveniences of modern-day living that allow residents to live independently and enjoy their retirement years.

Kelly Jo Hinrichs, marketing and sales director, said the all-inclusive services and amenities include everything from meals and utilities to social activities and entertainment.

“It’s a place for people to live maintenance-free and stress-free, and have a fun lifestyle,” she said. “Today, many people are choosing to prepare and downsize sooner. More people want to make these changes now so they can participate in the decision-making about where and how they live.”

Offering a selection of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, Daniel Pointe can accommodate anyone’s needs.

“We offer monthly rent, so residents don’t have to buy or sign a long-term lease,” she explained.

The month-to-month rent has no hidden fees. With everything taken care of by the professional staff, residents have the time and freedom to enjoy all the amenities and services offered.

As part of Resort Lifestyle Communities, headquartered in Nebraska, Daniel Pointe truly is like an all-inclusive resort you can call home.

“There’s weekly housekeeping, valet service, internet, phones and even snacks throughout the day,” Hinrichs said.

There’s also the convenience of an on-site beauty salon, a general store with prescription drop-off and pickup service and a bank. If that wasn’t enough, they also have happy hour every Friday.

A resort lifestyle means having the flexibility to do as little or as much as you want to do.

“We have many activities, all of which are included in the rent,” Hinrichs explained. “We have beautiful outdoor areas to enjoy, areas to take walks, a fitness center and even a state-ofthe- art theater for bands, dances and guest speakers.”

Hinrichs said one of the most popular and unique features available at Daniel Pointe is the travel program.

“We give residents the opportunity to visit other RLC locations throughout the country. Our concierge service can make reservations at any of our communities, where residents can enjoy the same amenities and services as they would here,” she said. “It’s a wonderful way for residents to travel and still experience the lifestyle they’ve come to love in their home community.”

When the time comes when residents need assisted living, Hinrichs said Daniel Pointe has partnered with Interim Healthcare, “so when they need it, residents have the option to bring other services in or use who we have on-site.”

It’s easy to see that the primary focus at Daniel Pointe is on current and future residents and their families. Their comfort, safety and enjoyment are the top priorities.
