Tell us about one of your clients’ success stories.
I helped a family move their 99-year-old mother to Charleston while she was on hospice. After a time in skilled nursing, she improved enough to move into assisted living. She recently turned 100, and we celebrated together.
If you could change one thing about health care, what would it be?
I would expand affordable senior living options in South Carolina. Too many low-income seniors have nowhere realistic to go. Most facilities are private pay, with Medicaid options limited and often full. Families shouldn’t face impossible choices.
Describe the moment or time of life you decided to have a career in health care.
As a little girl, I thought I would be a nurse. I loved joining my dad on his Sunday rounds, walking the hospital halls and seeing how his visits comforted his patients. Those early moments have stayed with me.
How would you describe your journey to becoming the health leader you are today?
I began my career in nonprofit management, mainly in health and human services. Even with detours, every job and volunteer role became a stepping-stone leading me to owning my own business supporting seniors and their families.
