After taking care of the oral health needs of East Cooper residents for almost 25 years, it’s clear that Rick Jackowski, DDS, and Greg Johnson, DDS, were in tune with the Mount Pleasant Community. The owners of Pleasant Family Dentistry, they were aware that to best serve their patients, they needed to expand their practice.
Enter Robert Carimi, DDS, a Tennessee native with 10 years of combined experience at the University of Tennessee’s College of Dentistry, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and in private practice. While Drs. Jackowski and Johnson are experts at CEREC crown fabrication, Dr. Carimi brings an extensive knowledge of implants to the table, in addition to in-office sedation and other services.
”The skills that I have learned will enable me to provide the services that Dr. Jackowski and Dr. Johnson do not currently offer. Hopefully, that way more patients can remain in the Pleasant Family Dentistry family for all of their dental needs,” he said.
In addition to working with current patients, Dr. Carimi hopes to contribute to the office’s efforts to serve the Lowcountry.
“It seems as if the East Cooper community greatly values oral health and that they have a great dental IQ. However, I know that there are dental needs in the area that are not being met,” he said.
To help the area’s uninsured and under-insured residents, Pleasant Family Dentistry will offer their services free of charge to patients in need during their second annual Day of Smiles on Aug. 17. Dr. Carimi added, “They say that last year was truly heartbreaking to see how much need there was. I can’t wait to help their cause as their newest dentist.”
