Meet Our Dentists
Dr Johnson
Dr Jeffrey Johnson actually grew up with a dentist for a dad. He knew from an early age that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps – in fact, in elementary school, he wrote that he wanted to become a dentist too! Today, he couldn’t be happier to have made that long-ago goal a reality.
After completing his undergraduate degree at the College of Charleston, Dr. Johnson pursued his dental doctorate at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. He has also undergone advanced training in dental implant surgery through the Engel Implant Institute. Dr. Johnson was also invited to and now serves as a Clinical Instructor there to teach other dentists how to place implants. He is an outstanding general and restorative dentist and will be providing our patients with all aspects of general restorative and surgical care. Today, he is currently a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and SPEAR Education.
Away from work, Dr. Johnson has a wonderful fiancée named Jennifer and two Miniature Dachshunds named Duggie and Daika. He is also very close with his parents and older brother. In his spare time, you can usually find him on the ocean! He loves fishing, boating, and looking for shark’s teeth on the beach. He also works out at the gym as often as possible.
Dr Gregory
Dr. Virginia Gregory earned a bachelor’s of science degree in dental hygiene from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill before receiving her doctor of dental medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1985. She also holds a master’s of science degree in speech pathology.
For nearly 32 years, Dr. Gregory has brought contemporary clinical dentistry and optimal patient comfort to families in the Charleston area. Passionate about excellence and education, Dr. Gregory believes that her patients only deserve the very best. She completed extensive coursework at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and is an LVI preferred dentist – one of the few dentists in the state to have achieved this status. In 2002, Dr. Gregory was pleased to open her state-of-the-art dental office in Mount Pleasant, SC, featuring the latest tools and amenities to make her patients smile.
She is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the South Carolina Dental Association. Dr. Gregory also earned a Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry after hundreds of hours of continuing education and rigorous testing.
Dr. Gregory is married and has one adult daughter. She and her husband live on the Isle of Palms with their labradoodle named Baxter. In her few free hours, Dr. Gregory likes to relax by painting, shopping and traveling.
Dr Kent
Dr. Anya Kent is an endodontist recently relocated from Westchester, NY where she was voted “Top Dentist” by her peers in the Westchester Magazine for 5 years running from 2012 through 2016. She brings with her 14 years of endodontic experience as well as a Global dental microscope allowing for magnification to locate canals as well as allow for smaller access openings.
Dr. Kent attended New York University College of Dentistry, receiving her DDS degree in 1999. She completed her residency in Endodontics from the Manhattan Veterans Administration Hospital in 2003. She has worked in private practice in Westchester until her move here last summer.
Dr. Kent currently resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband, 2 daughters, her chocolate lab and 2 cats. She is loving all that Mount Pleasant has to offer including tennis, golf, fishing, wonderful beaches and warm friends and neighbors she has met here.
She looks forwards to providing our patients with caring and comfortable endodontic care.
