Advanced Orthopedic Care at East Cooper Medical Center

Comprehensive Orthopedic and Spine Care
She went on to highlight orthopedic care as the cornerstone of the hospital’s commitment to excellence. East Cooper Medical Center recently integrated with Southeastern Spine into Novant Health, which allows ECMC to offer comprehensive orthopedic and spine care all under one roof.
Maternity Care at East Cooper Medical Center
When it comes to maternity care, Tuley noted that caring for the well-being both of mothers and babies is one of the most critical aspects of health care.
“East Cooper Medical Center provides high-quality, compassionate care during pregnancy, childbirth and post-delivery, ensuring safe outcomes and fostering positive experiences for families. Our amazing team is committed to providing excellent maternity care focused on safety, respect and equity,” she explained.
Introduction of Contrast-Enhanced Mammography
East Cooper Medical Center recently introduced contrast-enhanced mammography, the first of its kind in the Lowcountry. “This groundbreaking, low-cost alternative to a breast MRI offers women with dense breast tissue or patients at high risk for breast cancer an easier and more accurate means of early detection,” Tuley said.
Breast Cancer Care Navigator and Advanced Interventional Radiology
East Cooper Medical Center also has in place a breast cancer care navigator, whose sole commitment is to guide patients through diagnosis to recovery and beyond. “Our navigator has a wealth of knowledge and helps every step of the way,” Tuley explained.
Another new addition is the advanced interventional radiology suite. This hybrid facility provides patients with imaging and minimally invasive surgeries in one operating suite, including diagnosing and treating heart blockages, arrhythmias, blood vessel conditions and cancer.
Looking Ahead: Expansion and Future Developments
Looking to the future, Tuley said site work is underway for another medical office building dedicated to women’s services and conveniently located next to the current medical center. And she promised that East Cooper Medical Center would continue to recruit and retain the highest quality physicians and teammates.
