As a family man, a member of the Town Council, an active participant in his church, a veteran and a successful business owner, Craig Rhyne Jr., DMD, is proof that you can have it all.
“I’m not perfect, but those who I serve always know they can trust me,” he said.
And with 12 years of practicing oral and facial surgery under his belt, it’s no wonder Dr. Rhyne’s patients at Palmetto Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery trust him.
A graduate of the Citadel, Dr. Rhyne served as a surgeon in the U.S. Army for seven years before he was honorably discharged. With his wife and three young children in tow, he moved back to his native Mount Pleasant five years ago and began his own practice.
It is the military mantra of community service that drives Dr. Rhyne’s business and is what he calls the key to being successful.
“That’s truly what makes me good at what I do and different than others,” he said. “My whole adult life has been about service.”
In addition to serving his patients with some of the most up-to-date technology in the field, Dr. Rhyne believes in serving the community of dental professionals based in Mount Pleasant. He hosts “study clubs and a yearly mini-residency for the restoration of dental implants” through his practice and also serves as the division chairman of Oral Surgery and Dentistry for Roper St. Francis Healthcare. It’s these close relationships with other dental professionals that helps make Palmetto Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery unique.
“In general, I spend a lot of time treatment-planning patients with other dentists to offer the best options. I have patients that come from all over the state because they and their referring dentists know that the trip to Mount Pleasant is worth it,” he said.
