Emergency Medicine

Dr. Nason, the founder and medical director of NasonCare, has over twenty years of experience treating patients in the emergency room and urgent care. This trusted experience, and the compassion that accompanies our medical services, assures patients that they’re in the very best hands.

Growing up on a cattle farm in Tennessee, Dr. Nason learned the value of hard work early on – a lesson that he applied to his studies at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Nason graduated with a BA in Biology, Chemistry and English before attending East Tennessee State University for medical school, where he served as Vice President of his class.

Dr. Nason then completed a residency in emergency medicine at Louisiana State University and was selected as a United States representative at the International College of Emergency Physicians in Sydney, Australia. This prestigious opportunity fueled his passion for medicine, and it’s this passion that drives him to provide top-quality medical services today.

Dr. Nason is currently board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is also a certified medical examiner for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He holds active medical licenses in multiple states and is accredited by ACLS, ATLS, BLS and PALS.

In his free time, Dr. Nason enjoys spending time with his three children, Beau, Cooper, and Sadie. His hobbies include fishing, wake boarding and reading.

Benjamin Moreland, PA-C
Physician Assistant

A graduate of Drexel University and certified Physician Assistant, Ben has almost two decades of experience in emergency medicine, urgent care medicine, and family medicine, including six years as a Physician Assistant in the U.S. Army. Before relocating to the Lowcountry, Benjamin was the founder/owner of a successful family medicine office, committed to providing high quality care and putting patients first. He also served on the PA Advisory Committee for a state licensing board, sat on multiple boards of directors and taught several PA programs as an adjunct professor. In addition to spending time with his wife and three daughters, Benjamin enjoys sports, fishing, boating, and working towards his 100-ton vessel master captain’s license.


Tonya Humphrey, PA-C
Physician Assistant Specialist

Tonya is a certified physician assistant having graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her undergraduate degree in biology at the College of Charleston. A native of Summerville, Tonya has gained experience in family practice, internal medicine, endocrinology, as well as emergency medicine. Her special interests include hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, and osteoporosis. She has dedicated much for time to serving the geriatric population in this region. Tonya enjoys spending time with her son Gavin who is an avid basketball player. She is dedicated to mission work predominately in South Africa, Nicaragua and Panama. In her personal time, she enjoys physical fitness and reading historical novels.
