Our Doctors
HUDSON C. ROGERS, MD is a graduate of St. Andrews College and the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a three-year residency in Dermatology at the Medical University of South Carolina where he served as chief resident in 1982. He is certified by The American Board of Dermatology. In August 2008, Dr Rogers completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology in Tallahassee, Fl. He is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, which is the national association of fellowship trained Mohs surgeons. He is a member of the Charleston County Medical Society, South Carolina Medical Association, The American Academy of Dermatology, former President of the South Carolina Dermatological Association, and listed in Best Doctors in America.
JOHN MAIZE JR., MD joined Trident Dermatology in 2012 and practices general dermatology and dermatopathology (the microscopic diagnosis of skin disease), being board-certified in both by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Maize received his education at Bishop England High School, the University of South Carolina Honors College (undergraduate), the Medical University of South Carolina (medical school), Wake Forest University (internship), the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (dermatology residency), and University of California San Francisco (dermatopathology fellowship). Dr. Maize is an Affiliate Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Medical University of South Carolina and teaches both residents in dermatology and fellows in dermatopathology. He is a member of multiple local, state, and national medical organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatopathology, the South Carolina Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and the Charleston Dermatological Society.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, volunteering with East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) and living an active lifestyle in our beautiful Lowcountry through running, playing tennis, boating, and surfing.
E. GEORGE BUTLER, II, MD received his bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy before attending medical school at the Uniformed Services University. He completed Undersea Medical Officer School before completion of a residency in Dermatology at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. He served as a Staff Dermatologist at the Naval Health Clinic of Charleston from 2005-2015. Dr. Butler is certified by The American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. He is also a member of the Charleston Dermatologic Society and SC Dermatological Association.
BRADLEY J. SAYLORS, MD earned his bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Saylors completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a residency in Dermatology at Tulane University School of Medicine, serving as chief resident in his final year. He then completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology at The Skin Cancer Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is certified by The American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Saylors is ready to serve our community in the practice of Mohs surgery, surgical dermatology, and general dermatology. We are honored to have him as a part of our Trident Dermatology team.
MICHAEL OVERCASH, MPAS,PA-C, holds degrees from Furman University, the Medical University of South Carolina (Magna Cum Laude) and the University of Nebraska College of Medicine (Summa Cum Laude, 2004). In 2011 he earned the designation of Diplomate, from the Society of Dermatology PAs (SDPA). He is a nationally certified physician assistant and is licensed to practice, including telemedicine, by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. He was elected President of the SC Society of Dermatology PAs for 2020-2022. He was named Physician Assistant of the Year for 2009 by the SC Association of Physician Assistants, 2018 winner of Charleston’s Choice for Best Dermatologist, and Best Dermatologist in 2021 for Berkeley County. Michael enjoys collaborating with the talented dermatologists of Trident Dermatology, and serves in Africa, Asia, and Latin America on medical mission trips every year.
KALLEY VEIT, MMS, PA-C is a NCCPA board-certified Physician Assistant licensed to practice in South Carolina. Kalley received her undergraduate degree in Biology from The Pennsylvania State University and her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Salus University, where she was inducted into Pi Alpha National Honor Society. Kalley has also earned the designation of Diplomate Fellow, from the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Prior to relocating to Charleston, Kalley trained and worked for a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon in Maryland. She is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, South Carolina Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
DESTINEY MALPASS, MPAS, PA-C earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University and her Masters in Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) as well as the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) and the South Carolina Society of Dermatology PAs (SCSDPA). After graduating from MUSC, she worked in general surgery for two years prior to joining the team at Trident Dermatology. She focuses primarily on surgical dermatology and enjoys collaborating and utilizing her skills during Mohs Surgery.
